Did You Know?

PDF's Origins

PDF was developed by Adobe co-founder John Warnock in the early 1990s through a project codenamed "Camelot." The goal was to create a file format that would make documents look the same on any computer.

An Open Standard

Since 2008, PDF has been an open standard maintained by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO). This means that the specifications for creating and reading PDF files are freely available to anyone.

The Power of PDF/A

PDF/A is a special version of the PDF format designed for long-term archiving. It ensures that documents will look the same regardless of what software or hardware is used to view them, even decades in the future.

PDF and Accessibility

Modern PDFs support accessibility features that make them usable by people with disabilities. These include document tags, reading order specifications, alternative text for images, and compatibility with screen readers.

Frequently Asked Questions

Our tool allows you to convert up to 20 images in a single PDF. Each image becomes a separate page in the resulting document. This limit ensures optimal performance and reasonable file sizes. If you need to convert more images, you can split them into multiple batches and create separate PDFs.

Each image can be up to 5MB in size, with a total limit of 50MB for all images combined. This should be sufficient for most Images and photos. Since all processing happens in your browser, the actual performance may vary depending on your device's capabilities. For very large or high-resolution images, you might consider compressing them first using our Image Compressor tool.

No, all image processing happens entirely in your browser. Your files never leave your device or get uploaded to our servers. This ensures complete privacy and security for your sensitive Images and images. It also means you can use this tool even when you're offline after the page has loaded.

"Fit to page" will resize the image to fit within the page boundaries while preserving its aspect ratio, which may result in white space if the image and page proportions differ. "Fill page" will cover the entire page with the image, which may crop portions of the image if its aspect ratio differs from the page. "Original size" will center the image on the page without resizing, which may result in cropping if the image is larger than the page or white space if it's smaller.

Our tool doesn't include PDF editing capabilities, but the generated PDF can be edited using any PDF editor software. The PDFs created with this tool contain images only and don't include editable text (unless the images themselves contain text). If you need to add text, annotations, or make other modifications to the PDF after creation, you'll need to use a dedicated PDF editor like Adobe Acrobat, PDF-XChange Editor, or similar software.
